So… This is where we joined the Viking Emerald for our cruise. It turns out that Chongqing was previously the capital of China and surprising that we had never heard of it bearing in mind that it has a population of 33 million!!!! As there was time to spare, due to an exceptionally early start, we were taken to Chongqing Zoo to see their 7 pandas. By good fortune the adults and one juvenile were there to greet us. A great photo opportunity.
We joined the ship in the afternoon and were so pleased to unpack. Our cabin was spacious with a small verandah so we could watch the Yangtze river go by.
